Terrorism…Do We Still Take it Seriously?
I have to wonder sometimes, if we still take terrorism seriously. It is easy for those in power to come up to a podium or “teleprompter” and condemn an act of terrorism. Does that really do anything if the words do not come with conviction? Where is the resolve a leader should posses when protecting the people from foreign threats? Janet Napolitano director of homeland security believes that when ordinary citizens are successful in thwarting a terrorist attack, that “the system in place is working” Well gee… I guess if I it is necessary we would all do what needs to be done. Is that protection though? Would you rely on me when some guy on a plane decides to light his balls on fire?
In the last 2 months there has been one major terrorist attack at Fort Hood, and a multitude of other planned or possible attacks thwarted. Today 5 envelopes were sent to different cities in Alabama, all containing white powder. They did not test positive for anthrax but what if they did. Where is our leadership tacking responsibility. Terrorism has become a dirty word. We now call terror attacks man-made disasters.
Let me tell you something, If a man shits his pants in the middle of a subway car that is a man-made disaster. Lining ones balls with explosives and trying to light them on fire in a plane TERRORIST ATTACK! Lying to your wife about sleeping around with different women while she chases you into a fire hydrant with a golf club…. man- made disaster, Shooting 30+ fellow soldiers killing 13 while yelling “Allahu Akbar” TERRORIST ATTACK!
Please Mr. President, understand we do not need a complete overhaul of our healthcare system. We don’t need the government to take over 1/6th of our economy. Mr. President, we need you to guide this country into safety and from economic collapse. Terrorism does not just happen with a deadly disaster but also economically as well. If one wants to destroy the prosperity of this country it is only necessary to raise our energy prices above affordability. Such as the great oil price spike of 2008. Mr. President, that’s called CYBER TERRORISM!
